This is an idea I've had for a while. Admittedly it's a No Mans Sky inspired piece of foliage. I love how bioluminescent plants feel in that game, especially in VR, so I wanted to try my hand at it. I imagined this asset to be a large tropical leaf in the shape of a snail shell fractal. It also occurred to me it might look nice across the water like a large floating Lilly, so I gave it a body and roots which were similar.
Created using procedural modeling/texturing techniques in roughly 2 days.
